Thanks for checking out my site. This page will help you get to know me a little better.

I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and attended the University City School District. In high school I played varsity water polo, swimming and tennis. I also spent a lot of time playing with my club water polo team SLAP.

I grew up playing instruments and in high school I became very committed to electric guitar. I was in several rock bands and played shows at some of the great St. Louis venues while still in high school. This lead to an interest in recording music. I slowly built up a home recording studio and decided to study electrical engineering in college to pursue my goal of being involved in the digital music recording industry.

In 2003, I enrolled at Washington University in St. Louis or "Wash U". My EE major required me to take a computer science class freshman year. Despite having no prior interest in computers or programming experience, CS quickly became my favorite subject and I transitioned to a computer science and computer engineering major.

I got my first programming job the summer after my freshman year. I was hired as a web developer writing Cold Fusion applications for the Wash U business school. I continued this job for about 1.5 years. During my junior year I was accepted into a 6 month co-op program with Hunter Engineering where I worked on everything from embedded linux systems to web development.

While in college I continued my hobbies of water polo and guitar. I played on the Wash U water polo team during all four years of college and we made it to Nationals in 2006 (we got destroyed at nationals, but that's not the point). I also played in two different bands and had the good fortune of getting to play a show at The Pageant which is the premier venue in St. Louis.

After my fourth year in school I moved up to Minneapolis for a summer intership at General Mills. This solidified my desire to go into the business world after college. I was scheduled to begin a 1 year masters program at Wash U the next fall with plans to go back to General Mills after school. That's when a friend from high school contacted me about joining a start-up company in Utah called Zane Benefits.

I saw a great chance to get in at the ground floor of a really exciting company and I decided it was worth leaving my master program. I've worked at Zane Benefits since the Fall of 2007. You can read about what Zane Benefits does on my blog

Since I live down the street from a world famous ski resort, I figured I should learn to snowboard and that's now one of my favorite hobbies. I also spend a lot of time on cbBlitz and other side projects.

Well that's probably more than you wanted to know, so I'll end it here.
